With a lifelong dedication to special education, I began my career as a nursery school teacher while pursuing my master’s degree in special education. Over the next 31 years, I worked in various capacities for the Department of Education, serving as a special education classroom teacher, Special Education Teacher Support Service (SETSS) instructor, and reading specialist.

I later transitioned to a school-based support team at a NYC public high school, where I conducted educational evaluations and managed the special education evaluation process-including planning and attending IEP meetings. From there, I joined a CSE team in Manhattan, and while there, I earned certification in Orton-Gillingham and training in DIR Floortime. I also obtained a degree in educational administration and took on the role of Instructional Support Specialist before working to organize impartial hearings for the region.

My work in this role led me to frequent conversations with Susan Luger, which eventually brought me to my current position at Susan Luger Associates. Here, I have witnessed firsthand the anxiety and frustration parents face when fighting for the services their children need and deserve. I feel incredibly fortunate to guide and support families through this overwhelming process, making a meaningful impact in their journey.

On the personal side, I raised two wonderful daughters as a single parent who have blessed me with my favorite title of all, "grandma." I am so fortunate that they live close to me and that I am able to be part of their lives. Truly blessed.
